Role Overview – MMEC Mannesmann LLC is hiring a Senior HR Specialist for a full-time, on-site position based in Abu Dhabi. This position is ideal for experienced human resources professionals with strong strategic HR expertise, deep knowledge of UAE labor regulations, and the ability to manage HR operations effectively, support talent management, ensure regulatory compliance, drive employee engagement, and contribute to organizational growth within a dynamic energy sector environment.
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition – You will manage end-to-end recruitment processes by identifying staffing needs, developing job descriptions, recruiting candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations. You will source talent through multiple channels, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and support onboarding of new employees.
Employee Relations and Engagement – You will manage employee relations by addressing workplace concerns, resolving conflicts professionally, and maintaining positive working relationships. You will conduct exit interviews, analyze employee feedback, implement engagement initiatives, and foster a positive workplace culture that promotes retention and satisfaction.
UAE Labor Law Compliance – You will ensure strict compliance with UAE labor law, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) regulations, and local employment requirements. You will maintain knowledge of labor law updates, ensure proper employment contracts, manage visa and work permit processes, and maintain compliant HR records and documentation.
HR Policy Development and Implementation – You will develop, update, and implement human resources policies that comply with UAE regulations and support organizational objectives. You will communicate policies clearly, ensure consistent application, and monitor compliance with established policies.
Performance Management Systems – You will manage performance management processes including objective setting, regular feedback, performance evaluations, and development planning. You will support managers in conducting effective reviews, identify high performers for recognition, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
Training and Development Programs – You will identify training needs, develop training programs, and coordinate professional development opportunities for employees. You will manage training budgets, track training effectiveness, and support employee skill development and career advancement.
Compensation and Benefits Administration – You will manage compensation structures, benefits programs, and salary administration in compliance with market standards and company policies. You will analyze compensation data, administer benefits, process payroll liaisons, and ensure competitive compensation practices.
Payroll and Leave Management Coordination – You will coordinate payroll operations, manage leave requests and approvals, and ensure accurate employee records for payroll processing. You will track leave balances, process leave applications, and support payroll accuracy.
Talent Management and Succession Planning – You will develop talent management strategies, identify high-potential employees, and implement succession planning initiatives. You will support leadership development, mentor promising employees, and ensure organizational capability for future needs.
Employee Onboarding and Orientation – You will oversee employee onboarding processes, conduct orientation programs, and ensure new employees understand company policies and expectations. You will coordinate first-day activities, provide welcome materials, and support smooth integration of new team members.
Emiratization Compliance and Initiatives – You will ensure compliance with UAE Emiratization requirements and develop strategies to support the employment and advancement of Emirati nationals. You will track Emiratization metrics, coordinate training programs, and liaise with MOHRE on regulatory compliance.
HR Documentation and Record Management – You will maintain accurate, organized, and confidential employee records and HR documentation in compliance with legal requirements. You will organize personnel files, manage HR databases, ensure document security, and maintain proper retention practices.
Employee Disciplinary Procedures – You will manage disciplinary processes by documenting performance issues, conducting investigations when necessary, and recommending appropriate actions. You will ensure fair and consistent application of disciplinary procedures while maintaining employee dignity.
Health and Safety Coordination – You will support occupational health and safety initiatives, coordinate safety training, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will track incidents, support incident investigation, and promote a safety-conscious workplace culture.
Workplace Diversity and Inclusion – You will promote workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives that support equal opportunity and respect for diverse backgrounds. You will develop inclusive policies, address discrimination concerns, and foster an inclusive organizational culture.
Employee Wellness Programs – You will develop and implement employee wellness initiatives including health awareness programs, stress management support, and wellbeing activities. You will promote employee health and work-life balance through wellness initiatives.
HR Reporting and Analytics – You will prepare HR reports, analyze HR metrics, and provide insights to management regarding workforce trends and HR performance. You will track KPIs such as turnover, recruitment timelines, and employee satisfaction metrics.
Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management – You will communicate effectively with employees, managers, executives, and external HR contacts including government agencies. You will provide HR advice, respond to employee questions, and represent HR professionally.
Budget Management and Cost Control – You will manage HR budgets for recruitment, training, and employee programs, track expenditures, and implement cost-effective solutions. You will identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining HR service quality.
HR Systems and Technology Management – You will oversee HR information systems, manage databases, ensure data accuracy, and support technology-enabled HR processes. You will learn new systems, provide user support, and identify opportunities for improved technology utilization.
Senior HR Experience (Mandatory) – Proven experience as an HR Specialist, HR Manager, or in a similar senior human resources role is mandatory. Your background should demonstrate successful management of HR operations, employee relations expertise, and consistent delivery of HR excellence.
UAE Labor Law Expertise (Mandatory) – Comprehensive and current knowledge of UAE labor law, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization regulations, and local employment requirements is mandatory. You should demonstrate proficiency in applying UAE labor regulations and maintaining compliance.
Recruitment and Talent Management (Mandatory) – Extensive experience in recruitment, candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and talent selection is mandatory. You should demonstrate ability to attract qualified candidates and make sound hiring decisions.
Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution (Mandatory) – Strong expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and maintaining positive workplace relationships is mandatory. You should demonstrate ability to address employee concerns professionally and resolve disputes constructively.
HR Policy Development (Mandatory) – Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing human resources policies is mandatory. You should understand policy development principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills (Mandatory) – Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are mandatory. You should communicate effectively with diverse audiences, provide HR guidance clearly, and build strong professional relationships.
Language Proficiency (Mandatory) – Fluent English is mandatory. Arabic language proficiency is highly desirable for communication with Arabic-speaking employees and government agencies in Abu Dhabi.
Organizational Skills (Mandatory) – Exceptional organizational and time management abilities are mandatory to manage multiple HR responsibilities simultaneously. You should maintain organized systems and prioritize effectively.
Attention to Detail (Mandatory) – Strong attention to detail is mandatory in HR documentation, compliance, and record-keeping. You should catch errors and maintain accuracy in sensitive HR matters.
Educational Background (Mandatory) – A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field is mandatory. Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, CIPD, or similar are preferred but not required.
UAE/Abu Dhabi Experience (Mandatory) – Previous HR experience in the UAE or specifically Abu Dhabi is mandatory, as thorough understanding of local labor laws, cultural context, and regulatory environment is essential to this role.
Energy Sector Knowledge (Preferred) – Previous HR experience in the energy, oil and gas, or industrial sectors is preferred and demonstrates understanding of relevant industry context and operational requirements.
Emiratization Program Management (Preferred) – Demonstrated experience managing Emiratization initiatives, developing Emirati talent, and ensuring compliance with Emiratization requirements is preferred.
HR Systems and Technology (Preferred) – Experience with HR information systems (HRIS), HR software, or HR technology platforms is preferred and demonstrates capability with HR systems.
Performance Management Expertise (Preferred) – Experience designing and implementing performance management systems is preferred.
