Job Description
Job Overview: The Music/Drama Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students in the creative arts. You will design and implement a curriculum that fosters artistic development, musical literacy, dramatic expression, and student confidence. Your role will involve encouraging creativity and performance skills while ensuring alignment with the IGCSE/British Curriculum framework.
Curriculum & Teaching: As a Music/Drama Teacher, you will be expected to prepare structured lesson plans, develop engaging classroom activities, and implement performance-based assessments. Your lessons will help students understand musical theory, instruments, vocal techniques, as well as the fundamentals of acting, stagecraft, and theatrical production. Experience in handling school concerts or drama productions is a plus.
Student Engagement: You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe to express themselves. This role involves active student participation through rehearsals, creative projects, and performances. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing the artistic potential of young learners through motivation, inspiration, and consistent feedback.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring: The teacher will be responsible for tracking student progress, maintaining records, and reporting performance in line with school guidelines. Feedback should be constructive, timely, and focused on continuous improvement. You’ll also be involved in regular parent-teacher meetings and school-wide events related to the arts.
Collaboration & Contribution: Beyond the classroom, the Music/Drama Teacher will be a team player, collaborating with other subject teachers and contributing to interdisciplinary projects, school festivals, and extracurricular activities. You’ll be part of a nurturing faculty team that shares best practices and supports professional growth.
Preferred Candidate Profile: We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in British or IGCSE curriculum schools. The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Music, Drama, or a related field along with a recognized teaching qualification. Native English speakers are preferred for this role due to the language needs of the curriculum.
